Lorna Whiston Preschool in Winchester, is set in an idyllic location spanning over 38,000 square feet in a beautiful old black and white building with ten classrooms and extensive outdoor play areas. Nestled in the beautiful environs of Winchester, Lorna Whiston Preschool offers young children a beautiful area to play and learn amongst verdant greenery.
Our sprawling grounds comprise a large water play deck filled with brightly coloured toys that encourage children to play while working on their dexterity, as well as interactive features that allow our young learners to explore their creativity and musicality. Through outdoor playtime, children learn teamwork, collaboration and patience, essential traits throughout their lives.
Within the historic black and white indoor complex, there is also a dedicated play area for playgroup children to enjoy their activities safely. Toys are carefully curated to encourage children to learn about the world around them.
Safe and Nurturing Environment to Explore Interests
Our comfortable facilities are designed to empower children to explore their interests, create and discover in a multitude of areas.
Children are encouraged to display their work within the classrooms and in the art corner, giving them a sense of ownership of their classrooms and a sense of pride and joy as they step into school. Each classroom is personalised and encourages children to express their individualities.
A dedicated dining area allows children to eat independently as well.
There is a reading corner in every classroom, providing a sense of order and encouraging children to develop a lifelong love for reading.
Our Lorna Whiston enrichment teacher conducts speech and drama lessons, giving our young learners an opportunity to express their creativity, build their confidence and develop their linguistic abilities.

Ms. Lynn has dedicated a rewarding twenty years to young children across preschools, childcare centres and children’s home since 1998. Ms. Lynn joined Lorna Whiston Preschools as a teacher in 2004. This marked the beginning of more than a decade of professional growth and personal dedication. After four years of teaching, she took on the role of Principal, leading a number of initiatives including the setting up of new centres, bilingual curriculum development, new extracurricular development, and teacher training (local and Chinese). Progressing to Senior Principal in 2013, then to Head of Preschools in 2017, Lynn rose to the challenge each time and delivered.
During her 15 years with Lorna Whiston, Lynn has been instrumental in building a Lorna Whiston culture of continued learning for staff, developing a robust learning environment and a bilingual immersion curriculum, and mentoring new staff who have embarked on new teaching roles and taking on leadership roles in the industry. Lynn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Childhood and Family Education) from Edith Cowan University (Perth) and a Post Graduate Specialist Diploma in Preschool Education (Singapore).
