Curriculum

All grade levels are taught through our Bilingual Immersion Programme delivered by both an English language teacher and a Mandarin language teacher in every classroom. Both highly experienced and fully-qualified, they co-teach the academic programme throughout the day.

Our Playgroup Programme aims to make the transition from home to school easy by providing the same warm, safe and caring learning environment that young children would have at home. We focus on building positive first experiences at school through hands-on learning, exploration and creativity. Our early years experienced teachers help to develop social skills, gross and fine motor skills and creativity through songs, music and imaginative play.

  • Over the preschool year we build confidence across four main learning areas:

  • Speaking and listening (English and Mandarin)

  • Creative development

  • The world around us

  • Social development and physical development

They continue to develop social skills, gross and fine motor skills and creativity through songs, music and imaginative play building on our Playgroup Programme.  Above all, our Nursery 1 programme aims to capture the excitement and adventure of learning so that coming to school each day becomes something each child looks forward to.

Our Nursery 2 students enjoy a fun-filled learning programme that is carefully balanced and varied. Children are introduced to phonics and placed on our Individualised Reading Programme. Their reading is regularly assessed throughout the year to ensure that every child progresses at the right pace. Early math and number skills are introduced and reinforced through practical, concrete experiences to ensure a firm understanding of fundamental concepts. All subjects are thematically integrated, allowing our young learners to understand the connections between individual subjects and make links with the world around them. Our Nursery 2 children are gently encouraged to become more independent and to develop self- help skills, allowing them to become more effective learners. They are encouraged to take turns, show kindness to others and share with their friends.

By the time our students enter Kindergarten 2, they are self-motivated learners with a thirst for knowledge. Students continue to progress through our Individualised Reading Programme and build a foundation in writing and spelling, ready for academic success in primary school.

More complex math and number skills are introduced in Kindergarten 2 and continue to be reinforced through problem-solving and thematically integrated of all our subjects. This allows our young learners to use higher level thinking skills to understand the connections between individual subjects and make links with the world around them.
